Vice President's office gets hit by coronavirus inside the White House
Vice President Mike Pence's office is now being overwhelmed with the coronavirus pandemic after it has been confirmed that an associate has tested positive.
Pence’s press secretary Katie Miller said that Pence and the office were notified about the positive test on Friday evening, after President Trump and Pence's latest press briefing to the nation.
So far, the White House is not disclosing the name of the individual, as according to Reuters, and say they're just trying to follow "CDC guidelines."
That's the standard statement, but you can bet they're internally freaking out about this incident. This one is definitely hitting close to home considering Pence has been delegated as the point person to lead the federal government's task force in their response to the Covid-19 outbreak. Image is everything right now.
Pence claims he has still not been tested for the coronavirus, according to the latest information that has been provided to the public.
It's possible the staffer could have been exposed to the virus last week at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, where the White House hosted a delegation from Brazil. Some of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's aides have tested positive, including one who was seated with President Trump at the resort.
