Trump may have tried to bribe Cohen for his silence. Attorney calls this "game-changing"
We have new information in the Michael Cohen saga.
House and Intelligence Committees are examining whether President Trump made an effort to bribe Michael Cohen, including a possible pardon after his home and place of work were raided by the FBI last April.
If it went down, once those talks obviously didn't work, Trump and his former longtime attorney were forced to go head to head against each other in a battle of the fittest.
According to NBC News, The Washington Post was the first to break the exclusive report.
So, what do we all know about this possible 'collusion' with the now disgraced ex-lawyer that Trump has relied upon for over a decade to handle all his dirty affairs?
Cohen said that he didn't ask for it - but people with inside info are saying something a little bit different. Right now everything is all speculation, but Cohen's lawyer Lanny Davis says this isn't all hype. He dropped a bombshell on MSNBC when he said that “new information has developed that could be game-changing,” and that it was about “lying and obstruction evidence.”
“It’s pretty explosive,” he said.
As of right now, Cohen is set to have another meeting with the House Intelligence Committee, but this time it will be behind closed doors. That's when he is expected to provide this new information. He has already alluded to the fact that pardon talks for him were discussed.
What we do know is that if anything is uncovered proving that the White House or anyone affiliated with President Trump, especially at his direction, tried to bribe him in order to keep him from flipping on the president, it will be "game-changing" as Cohen lawyer says.
We will update this with more information as it comes out. Stay tuned.
